Project topic: АР19174780 "Historical geography of the North-Eastern Caspian region of the Golden Horde era"

Relevance

Today, in the study of Kazakh history, a complete study of the history of the Golden Horde, its archaeological sites is relevant. The fact that the ethnic formation of the Kazakh people dates back to the time of the Golden Horde makes it necessary to study the material culture of this period, the harmony of urban and steppe culture in the settled times through archaeological excavations. The study of the monuments of the Golden Horde dates back to the twentieth century and continues to this day. As a result of the conducted research, the West Kazakhstan region identified such cities as Sarayshyk, Zhayyk, Zhalpaktal, Aktobe-Laeti and caravanserais such as Tas-Keshu, Uchkan, Koskuduk, Kuptam, Kushe, Shruk, Bileuli, etc. Currently, continuing this research work, it is important to search for new monuments of the Golden Horde in western Kazakhstan.

Project goal

The purpose of the study is to identify and study new monuments of the Golden Horde in the North-Eastern Caspian.

Project Objectives

To achieve this goal, it is necessary to perform the following tasks:

1) conducting archaeological exploration work on the territory of the West Kazakhstan region;

2) Determination of the stratigraphy of monuments discovered as a result of exploration, with the laying of pit excavations;

3) Creation of the topographic location of monuments through tacheometric survey, orthophotography and 3D images through digital devices;

Expected Results

The Golden Horde state existed as a politically and economically powerful country that ruled the world ruler of its time. The trade and economic policy of the rulers of the Golden Horde had a direct impact on the countries of the West and East. The region of the Urals of the Golden Horde, where such great trade relations have developed, has become one of the dynamically developing centers of new cultural, spiritual, trade and economic ties. These trends gave an impetus to the nomadic culture of our region, developed cultural and social relations. In this regard, the main scientific discoveries of our research work are as follows:

  1. As a result of archaeological exploration in the West Kazakhstan region, new monuments of the Golden Horde era will be revealed;
  2. Due to the topographic study of the identified monuments, the number of points of trade, economic and cultural contact of the Golden Horde increases;
  3. Creation of 3D images and orthophotoplans in digital programs using the coordinate points of the found monuments;
  4. New research results are introduced into scientific circulation.

The ongoing research work may become a new material for future studies of the monuments of the Golden Horde in the West Kazakhstan region. The study of the history of Western Kazakhstan will become a new source and will allow you to look at the history of the region from a new angle. In addition, the importance of our region in the world history will increase.
