International Conference: "Herpetological Studies of the Caspian Basin"

    Dear colleagues!

    We invite you to take part in the International Conference: "Herpetological Studies of the Caspian Basin." M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan University is a co-organizer together with the Herpetological Society named after A.M. Nikolsky of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dagestan State University and Institute of Zoology of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan. Time and venue: November 1-5, 2023. Kaspiysk, Dagestan, Russian Federation.

    Topics of the Conference:

    1. Ecology, Faunistics, distribution of amphibians and reptiles of the Caspian basin.
    2. Taxonomy, phylogeny and speciation of amphibians and reptiles of the Caspian basin.
    3. Morphology and evolution of amphibians and reptiles of the Caspian basin.
    4. Molecular genetics and GIS methods in the study of amphibians and reptiles of the Caspian basin.
    5. History of study of amphibians and reptiles of the Caspian basin.
    6. Anthropogenic influence on the fauna of amphibians and reptiles, problems of conservation of batracho- and herpetofauna of the Caspian basin.
    7. Maintenance and breeding of amphibians and reptiles of the Caspian basin.

    As part of the conference, excursions to the historical and natural sights of Dagestan are planned.

    The conference materials will be published in the format of articles - brief messages on the pages of the journal "Modern Herpetology" (included into the Russian Science Citation Index, the list of the Higher Attestation Commission, the Russian Index of Scientific Citation (RSCI) and the core of the RSCI).

    No organizational support is provided. Working languages of the conference: Russian and English.

    Main dates: until April 15, 2023 - submission of applications for participation; until June 15, 2023 - deadline of the materials acceptance for the publication in the journal "Modern Herpetology."
